Buffalo’s Stevie Johnson was widely recognized for pulling down the best catch of the week in the NFL. As it turns out, his one-handed grab was matched not once but twice by the same player in a single Florida state title game.

As captured by the PlayOn! Network, Weston (Fla.) Cypress Bay High wide receiver Alex Montgomery pulled in not one, but two remarkable one-handed grabs in his team’s 53-50 loss to Apopka (Fla.) High in the Class 8A title game.

Unlike Johnson’s catch, both of Montgomery’s grabs were worth six points.

Montgomery’s two touchdown grabs -- which you can see both above and below -- came from 23 and 31 yards out. Both were essential to keep Cypress Bay in the game, and both were the result of Cypress quarterback flinging the ball downfield in Montgomery’s general direction, praying that he would come up with it.

Remarkably, he seemed to do just that more times than not.

In fact, Montgomery’s impact went beyond these two memorable touchdown grabs as it is. Instead, the budding superstar receiver chipped in 199 total yards on 9 catches, helping Cypress Bay play its part in a game that set a new Florida state record for combined offensive yards with 1,103 overall.

Apopka finished with 584 yards, the second highest total for a single team in a title game in state history.

A good chunk of that yardage came via Montgomery and a pair a remarkable receptions, neither of which he really had business bringing in.
