Florida receiver pulls in miracle grab while being crunched by two defenders

For some reason, Randall Birchmier remains a relatively unknown, lightly-recruited wide receiver. Maybe it's because he plies his trade in the state of Florida. Maybe it's because he stands a Wes Welker-ish 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds.

Whatever the reason for the lack of interest in the senior's collegiate future, it ought to stop, because what he can do with his hands is just about unheard of.

As you can see in the video above, Birchmier pulled off the early clubhouse leader for prep catch of the season during Maitland (Fla.) Orangewood Christian School's 34-13 victory against Winter Park (Fla.) International Community School. With a pass thrown squarely between two different ICS defenders, Birchmier still found a way to pull in a remarkable grab, all while being positively leveled by one of the defenders in front of him.

And you thought Nate Washington's touchdown grab for the Titans was good.

Incredibly, that wasn't even Birchmier's first preposterous grab of the 2012 campaign, though it may be the first to count on an official stat sheet. During OCS' final preseason scrimmage against Father Lopez (Fla.) High, Birchmier pulled in the juggling, diving, full extension touchdown grab you see below.

That's two SportsCenter-worthy highlight clips in five games from a receiver that no one seems to know a thing about, both of which have been out in the open on YouTube. It's not like Birchmier's hiding.

In fact, the senior appears to be openly campaigning for his collegiate football future, not unlike the aforementioned Welker did in the past.

No word yet on whether Birchmier will have to enlist his coach as a last ditch negoatiator with college programs far and wide, as Welker did to land at Texas Tech. Alternatively, given his obvious talent and willingness to go absolutely anywhere to match a catch, maybe Birchmier can even get Welker to vouch for him.

And if college football doesn't work out, at least the Florida wideout will always have a pair of remarkable senior receptions to look back on.
