Palmer Ridge (Colo.) High golf captain Luke Hiser remains in fair condition after he was tragically struck by a train during the early hours of Saturday morning while leaving an end of the summer teen dance at Sibel's Barn in Monument, Colorado.

According to multiple reports from The Gazette (in Colorado Spring) and KRDO NewsChannel 13, Hiser, a senior and one of the top golfers on the Palmer Ridge golf team, was found near the train tracks around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning and was immediately rushed to Penrose Hospital.

Additional details surrounding the accident have yet to be released by the sheriff's office, but KRDO NewsChannel 13 spoke with one of Hiser's friends, Joshua Tucker, who said the injured teen "had a .2-something (blood-alcohol level), but I believe it wasn't from the barn dance, as there (were) no drinks there."

The end of summer dance was being held at a barn owned by former Monument mayor Si Sibel, with all proceeds going to the victims of the Aurora theater shooting. Based on an overhead map view of Sibel's barn, the structure was located right next to the train tracks. There also doesn't appear to be a fence separating the tracks from the barn.

Hiser was scheduled to play the Terror Invitational Golf Tournament at Patty Jewett Golf Course on Tuesday. Following the accident, The Gazette reported that Palmer Ridge High golf coach Paul Gagnon met with his team, on Sunday, to discuss what happened; the team also decided during the meeting to go ahead and participate in the tournament.

Other reports are also floating around at the moment, but it's impossible to know what, if anything, is correct until officials make an announcement. What we do know is that a high school senior with a bright future remains in fair condition at the moment. You just hope Hiser can make it through this terrible ordeal and move on with his life.
