A former Arkansas girls basketball coach's life may have hit bottom after she was arrested and charged with a disturbing slate of drug related offenses.
As reported by Arkansas CBS affiliate WTHV, former Little Rock (Ark.) Mamuelle High assistant girls basketball coach Brittany Burns was arrested after a routine traffic stop in Jacksonville, Ark. uncovered stolen property, narcotics and drug paraphernalia in Burns' car.
The arrest was the second drug-related incarceration for Burns in fewer than eight months. In January, Burns was also arrested on charges related to possession of narcotics.
At the time, Burns was a physical education teacher an girls basketball coach at Mamuelle High, but she was rapidly removed from both those duties after her initial arrest.
There was no public record of what the 35-year-old did after her tenure at Mamuelle came to an end, but her latest arrest clearly makes it clear that she has fallen upon harder times.
No date had been set for Burns' initial hearing as yet, but all will hope she can turn her life around if and when she is released into the public again, even if that future is unlikely to include a return to the coaching ranks.
