Oklahoma playoff one-handed, half-court hurl might be shot of the year

It's never good to overhype a bucket as a potential "shot of the year" unless it really delivers the goods. Well, this incredible playoff connection from Oklahoma definitely delivers the goods.

As reported by the Oklahoma High School Sports Express, the player converting the falling-out-of-bounds, one-handed miracle that you see above is Asher (Okla.) High star Zach Fowler. Though it seems clear that the junior was just trying to keep the ball in play, he got a lot more than he bargained for with the use of only his right hand.

To call the make a H-O-R-S-E shot would be an understatement. It was more of an absolute prayer that inexplicably found the bottom of the net.

The bucket was good for three of Fowler's game-high 31 points for Asher, which will feel lucky to have him coming back for a senior season for the 2012-13 campaign.

Fowler's miracle shot came in a Class B regional playoff game against Hammon (Okla.) High. While that shot is the kind of effort that can occasionally turn the momentum and general tide of a game in a single moment, that wasn't the case for the Indians, who eventually fell to Hammon, ending the team's season in the regional stage of the state playoffs.

While the loss may have been hard to take at first, at least Fowler and his teammates will have an incredible shot to talk about for years to come. In fact, in the long run it might prove to be even more memorable than any potential win would have been.
