Virginia signee Justin Anderson posterizes defender on massive slam … then helps him up

Here at Prep Rally we've come across plenty of fabulous poster dunks, some more impressive than others. Yet we may never have come across this before: A top recruit who throws down a huge dunk over an opponent, then stops immediately to help him up off the floor.

The player finishing the filthy dunk in the video above is Justin Anderson, a Virginia signee and Montrose (Md.) Christian School prospect whose athletic exploits around the rim have landed him here on Prep Rally before. Still, none of those dunks have been quite as explosive as this jam, on which he brought in a high alley-oop and threw down a massive slam while bowling over a Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Acadmey defender.

That's when Anderson stopped, turned down the opportunity to break into a traditional, massive celebration and instead helped his vanquished defender up from the ground.

The off-the-court-help job was a nice touch by a player whose stock has only continued to rise during a dominant senior season at Montrose Christian, one of the nation's best programs. While Anderson's willingness to offer up his help may only have delayed his dunk celebration -- the teen was exchanging congratulatory high fives with teammates moments later as he prepared to walk to the free-throw line to shoot his and-one free throw -- that delay was still a nice touch during yet another dominant Montrose victory; the Mustangs emerged from the game with a 70-52 win.

Given Montrose's rise up the national rankings -- the Mustangs are again in the RivalsHigh 100 top 10, currently sitting at No. 8 -- it's likely that Anderson will provide similar dramatic slams as the season moves along. Maybe he'll help another player up. Or maybe he'll be the guy getting helped up.

Actually, that second scenario doesn't seem too likely, at least until he's suiting up for Virginia beginning next fall.
