If you haven't heard of Solomon Poole before, don't worry. You will.
A star point guard for Jacksonville (Fla.) Terry Parker High, Poole is one of the top-10 recruits in the Class of 2013. The junior is explosive enough to take over a game single-handedly when he wants to, though he is just as likely to set up a host of teammates to tear opposing defenses apart.
Yet none of his past highlights can compare with the explosive poster jam you see above, in which he threw down a massive slam on top of a Jacksonville (Fla.) Paxon High defender in the lane during Parker's 66-63 victory. More impressively, he did so just moments after spraining his ankle.
While it might seem impossible for a young athlete to get that kind of lift with a sprained ankle, it appears that really was the case for Poole, who reportedly injured his ankle during his team's warmups against Paxon (it's unknown precisely how he hurt himself).
Despite being slowed by the injury, Poole played through it, and even stole the show with the dunk you see above.
Of course, Poole's slam would have been plenty impressive in its own right even without any maladies. Still, for a teenager to move beyond a sprain -- one which was significant enough to notably limit his contribution in his team's following game -- and continue to put his body on the line as explosively as the Parker star did is an incredibly impressive feat.
