Many in attendance at a popular 7-on-7 prep football tournament in the Austin area expressed their displeasure with the DJ on sponsor adidas' music stage over the weekend.
One successful coach called the music in a common public area "obscene and filthy" during the adidas 7-on-7 State Championship at Southwest Williamson County Regional Park in Leander, Texas, Dallas Morning News prep reporter Matt Wixon relayed.
Here's what Coppell (Texas) High coach Joe McBride tweeted from the event on Friday:
Music being played at 7on7 is obscene and filthy. This needs to be addressed!!!

Media, recruiting analysts and fellow coaches agreed on Twitter with McBride's comment, and the blame appeared to be aimed at adidas for hiring the DJ for the event.
In addition to lyrics degrading women, according to The Dallas Morning News post, one song that drew the Texas prep football community's ire was B.o.B.'s "Strange Clouds" -- a profanity-laced hip-hop track filled with drug, sex and gun references.
Here are a few of the more tame lyrical lines from the B.o.B. song that we can share here:
"I hit her with that pipe, call that Nancy Kerrigan"
"You be on that minor league, but we smoke professionally"
"Pour it up, don't stop there, hold your cup, take a shot"
"Kick back on that glock, call that Jiu Jitsu."
Many of the 70 submissions in the comment section on the Dallas Morning News post devolved into arguments over racism and agism, but one of the few interesting points raised centered around the history of drug references in music since the 1960s.
However, as Wixon noted, the B.o.B. lyrics glorify the very behaviors that so many school officials dedicate themselves to dissuading their student-athletes from partaking in -- not to mention the presence of many younger children in attendance at the event.
While there is certainly a time and place for such music, this didn't seem like either.
