University of Arizona basketball commit Rondae Jefferson performed his best Tracy McGrady impression, sunk a circus game-winning shot with 7.8 seconds remaining and kept Chester (Pa.) High's 57-game winning streak against Pennsylvania teams alive -- all in one impressive performance against Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia).
In the second quarter of Friday's marquee Pete and Jameer Nelson Classic matchup, the senior southpaw snatched a rebound, dribbled coast-to-coast around just about every Imhotep defender, tossed the ball off the backboard and slammed it home for SportsCenter's No. 2 highlight on New Year's Day.
Then, with the game tied and regulation running out, Jefferson accepted an entry pass on the right block, turned left towards the basket and sunk a looping up-and-under layup over his left shoulder that sent the crowd gathered Widener University into a frenzy and delivered a 63-61 victory to the state's top-ranked team.
Jefferson's game-winner gave him 18 points to go along with his 15 rebounds on the night.
When his dunk made SportsCenter's Top 10 highlights a few days later, he posted on his extremely active Twitter account, "Espn y'all I made it!!!!!!"
If you think you've heard Jefferson's name before, you may remember the 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward from such YouTube sensations as his reenactment of Michael Jordan and Spike Lee's legendary Nike commercial or his leapfrog dunk over University of Illinois commit Austin Colbert at the Mary Kline Classic this past spring.
Rivals.com ranks Jefferson nationally as the No. 19 senior recruit -- and No. 4 small forward -- in the Class of 2013. He committed to the Arizona Wildcats in September.
