Georgia DL scores touchdown on crazy ‘hacky sack’ interception

Of all the athletic, inventive ways to score a defensive touchdown, none in the 2012 season have been as creative as the method employed by Atlanta (Ga.) Grady High lineman DeAndre Brown.

As you can see in the video above, Brown pulled off the most unique score of plenty during Grady's 45-14 whitewash of city rival South Atlanta (Ga.) High. On a play in which one of Brown's teammates pressured South Atlanta quarterback Jamario Washington into a forced pass, Brown was there to take advantage of Washington's panic, kicking the ball up to himself, trapping it in mid-air for an inventive interception and taking it to the house for what may prove to be the touchdown of the season in Georgia.

If that isn't a quick thinking move by a big defensive lineman, Prep Rally doesn't know what is.

Quite rightly, the play has been dubbed the "hacky sack touchdown" by PlayOn!, the high school online video network which captured the clip.

While Grady went on to roll to a one-sided victory, Brown's touchdown was a key turning moment in the game. At the time, South Atlanta held a 7-0 lead and had the ball back, looking to mount a second offensive drive down the field.

Instead Brown popped up and pulled a proverbial rabbit out of his hat, or perhaps off his shoe, as the case may have been. That set Grady on the road to a rout, much to the chagrin of Washington and his teammates, who would have had a hard time believing the tough luck they faced on Washington's touchdown.
