California RB uses incredible hurdle of defender to score wild TD

Prep Rally has been waiting all year for a running back to come through with a mid-run hurdle en route to the end zone. On Friday we all finally got one.

The player performing the acrobatic feat you see above is Pacheco (Calif.) High running back Kalama Kamoku. Though he's only a sophomore, Kamoku is already a dangerous threat on the ground and, apparently, in the air. When faced with an oncoming tackler during Friday's one-sided loss to Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic High, Kamoku leaped directly over him and trotted right into the end zone.

Though there was a flag on the play, the penalty was called against Central Catholic, allowing the touchdown to stand. That's in contrast to some other states' rulebooks, which forbid hurdling an opponent on a legal run.

As incredible a touchdown run as Kamoku turned in, it wasn't enough to keep the Panthers in the game against one of mid-California's most talented squads. Central Catholic emerged from the contest as 55-15 winners, building up a 42-7 halftime lead and never looking back.

Of course, when fans do look back, they will probably be more likely to remember a remarkable touchdown from the vanquished side rather than the victorious one, thanks to a burst of wild athleticism from a potential future Pacheco star.
